It is a great privilege for The
Well/La Source to have a longstanding volunteer, mentor, friend,
shepherdess and “number cruncher” to honour.
Beth Cook
has been our “common cents”
since the beginning of our time. Not the beginning of her time
with The Well, actually Beth began her “Well” dedication as one
of the visionaries that gave birth to The Anglican Diocesan
ministries to women, both the emergency women’s shelter and The
Well/La Source. So Beth is one of our genuine “founding”
mothers and in true maternal fashion is our “good mother”, feet
on ground, heart in hand, facing forward, encouraging us to be
ourselves. Beth has given of her time (about a quarter of a
century’s worth) to provide endless hugs and encouragement,
mentoring me (among many others), affirming you (among many
others) and embracing The Well/La Source with her gentle spirit
and unconditional love.
Beth has honoured us in so many
ways for so long that we would like to take this opportunity to
honour her today, tomorrow and always as our “good mother”.
We’ve got money
in our pockets,
We like the
colour of your hair…
'cause you're a
friend who loves us
Got a "home" -
we’ve got a surplus
We’ve got a
GOOD MOTHER,
And your love
is what keeps us here.
Feet on ground,
Heart in hand,
Facing forward,
To be
ourselves… To be ourselves…
We’ve
got…Good…Mother…
